It’s been one year
It’s been one year since I left my last job, took 2 years of thinking and consideration before I finally decide to quit, still wondering what should I do to make the fastest adaptation between work and home.

I’m not the kind of person who’s good at keeping the house tidy, make a good cook . well- I’m learning now …J, but yes. I do like to be around my daughter, and after one year that was the best reason why I should stay at home. That’s the first reason.

Second. I like drawing.

Started to draw by trying to imitate Japan comic character “Candy2’ when I was 11 years old.
I never used my illustration skill for work, be an illustrator is like dreaming for me. Kinda hobby.

Then 6 month later, I stumbled into a friend multiply page Tita, she was a great comic artist and lecturer, and Ella, a wonderful person, a very talented watercolor artist , thanks to you guys. Whether you know it or not , you’ve been a great inspiration for me.

From there I run into one forum called
‘Illustration Friday’ , this forum was like a spirit booster for me, these guys, all these guys.. is so down to earth. You never know how one comment could make a difference in your life, and this forum do it in a very positive way. Thanks to you guys. You never know how much it means for me.

Stop here. It sound a little bit like the oscar moment? Isn’ t it? Well.. let me finish then…
There’s
Mike R Baker, a funny and wonderful person, theres Tina Vaziri who always have time to visit your work whether it’s bad or good one, and many more…

Well.. that’s for now. I’m gonna sip a tea before getting back to work.
As an illustrator of course.

Yaaaaayyy….! I’m doing the rain dance- I’m doing the rain dance!!

IF- Camouflage

..... When Elliott's mother enters Elliott's room, she is startled by the room's condition ("This is no room, this is an accident"). He quickly thinks of an excuse: "I was reorganizing." In the closet, Mike holds his hand over Gertie's mouth to silence her, as E.T. hides motionless among the stuffed animals, and blends in perfectly. Unlike Gertie who noticed E.T. immediately, Elliott's mother doesn't see E.T. hiding among the playthings in the closet.....
E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial (1982)

Do you remember? I do remember... :D... and sob all over again..

ET in the process of finding his color...

I remember back in 80's when this movie was release, we watched it on VHS, and the quality was very bad because it was not the legal VHS. it was a piracy edition, cause the film was not distributed in Indonesia.
The scene was hard to see cause it's majority black all over the screen... ehehe that all that we could get on that day..
still we trying -hard- to see and understand the dialogue.. :)

Yellow wreath
Yesterday morning, we woke up and found a lot of kamboja flowers(Plumeria alba) on our frontyard. It looks so beautiful, so we make a wreath from the flowers and hang it on the kamboja tree.

Church Bird and Gummy Bear

left photos: The wreath is quite beautiful for me but Mika think it's more interesting if we could hang something on it.. soo.. we have this tiny cradle with the gummy bear toys, swinging under it...

right photos: Then a few birds coming, it called' church bird' in Indonesia, I don't know the latin names for this birds, but they can be seen all around Indonesia, and nobody shoot or captured them for it is said it brings bad luck if you trying to catch them :'). Good for them.

just steal a few shoot from inside the house before they fly away.
There's a picture game- can you find the gummy bear on this photos?

Have fun! ^_^

Rice- The story of many colors

This is the second time I make colorful rice for Mika, she did like it, the process, the result, kids love it.. And it's just very simple to make, just mix the rice with food coloring, try to mix the color to make additional new color, add a few drops of alcohol- stir and let it dry.

You can store different color, each in separate glass bottle. My daughter prefer to mixed it up :D

Then they can play making picture with it, pretend that it's a quick sand with their toys, and other fun things.. enjoy!

Let's say... yes, I love Winnie the Pooh

Little Mr. Roo
Song that make my heart melt, The Heffalump Movie, from the scene when Kanga put Roo to sleep, this is her song.. :') click the link above to hear the song

Little Mr. Roo Reaching Up For The Moon

So many things you got to do
Have no time for dreaming
Little Mr. Roo Let the stars shine over you

Don't grow up too fast, too soon
Save some time for dreaming settle in, settle down
Let me see that sleepy yawn on your face
Close your eyes
I will love you completely and always
Little Mr. Roo The moon shines silver over you

No one knows you like I do
And Little Mr. Roo Reaching For The Moon

Don't grow up too fast, too soon

A little story about Pooh n friends
taken from http://www.lair2000.net
Christopher Robin's Toys Christopher Robin Milne's Winnie-the-Pooh, is not the bear from which Ernest Shepard made his original illustration. That honor goes to Growler, the teddy bear which belonged to the artist's son, Graham. Shepard called it "a magnificent bear." Growler was passed on to Graham's daughter, Minett (now Hunt), but perished during wartime exile in Canada, there worried to death by a dog.
The bear, originally called Edward Bear and sometimes called Saunders, was renamed Winnie after a brown bear in the London Zoo called Winnie. She had been the mascot of a Canadian regiment in the First World War. The name Pooh has been attributed to a swan's name by some or to an expression made by Christopher Milne after his mother Daphne told the story of his meeting with the bear Winnie in the London Zoo.
Eeyore, like Pooh was an original present. Piglet was a present from a neighbor who lived over the way, a present for the small boy she so often used to meet out walking with his nanny. Kanga, Roo, and Tigger were added later. They were gifts from Christopher's parents, Alan Alexander and Daphne. They were carefully choosen not just for the delight they might give to their new owner, but also for their literary possibilities.

A. A. Milne has said that the animals, Pooh and Piglet, Eeyore, Kanga and the rest were not created by him. Christopher Robin Milne and his mother Daphne played with them and gave them life, and I just put them into a book. Between us we have given them shape, but you have only to look at them to see, as I saw at once, that Pooh is a Bear of Very Little Brain, Tigger Bouncy, Eeyore Melancholy and so on. I have exploited them for my own profit, as I feel I have not exploited the legal Christopher Robin. All I have got from Christopher Robin is a name which he never uses, an introduction to his friends ... and a gleam which I have tried to follow.
In the last chapter of A House At Pooh Corner the Story ended. Christopher Robin went on to become a schoolboy. His father felt that the legal Christopher Robin has already had more publicity than he wanted for him. Moreover, since he was growing up, he would soon feel that he has had more publicity than he wants for himself. We all, young and old, hope to make some sort of a name, but we want to make it in our own chosen way, and, if possible, by our own exertions.
A child and his bear remain playing in the enchanted spot at the top of the forest. The toys are left behind, no longer wanted, in the nursery. So a glass case was made for them and it was fastened to the nursery wall and they climbed inside. And there they lived, sometimes glanced at, mostly forgotten, until the war came. Roe was missing. He had been lost years before. in an apple orchard. And Piglet's face was a funny shape where a dog had bitten him. Is you saw them today, your immediate reaction would be: "How old and battered and lifeless they look." But of course they are old and battered and lifeless. They are only toys and you are mistaking them for the real animals who lived in the forest. Even in their prime they were no more than a first rough sketch, the merest hint of what they were to become, and they are now long past their prime. Eeyore is the most recognizable; Piglet the least.

During the war they went to America and there they have been ever since.. In 1987, the original Pooh Bear, along with Eeyore, Tigger, Piglet, and Kanga, were donated to the Donnell Branch of The New York Public Library. The toys are on display in a special climate - controlled case in the Central Children's Room.
Christopher Milne when asked "Aren't you sad that the animals are not in their glass case with you today?" answer "Not really," and hope that this doesn't seem too unkind. I like to have around me the things I like today, not the things I once liked many years ago. don't want a house to be a museum.... Every child has his Pooh, but one would think it odd if every man still kept his Pooh to remind him of his childhood. But my Pooh is different, you say: he is the Pooh. No, this only makes him different to you, not different to me. My toys were and are to me no more than yours were and are to you. I do not love them more because they are known to children in Australia or Japan. Fame has nothing to do with love. I wouldn't like a glass case that said: "Here is fame"; and I don't need a glass case to remind me: "Here was love."
