Happy belated Christmas!

The last year Christmas cards I did for the card company, they want something modern and  simple so here they are :)

The village of little people, and snow, and ice skating, and snow, again.

:: and this is the real look of the little people, they have no mouth and nose!

In the land of pine tree and deer.
We don't have snow here, so that's why we are crazy about the idea of white Christmas *sigh :D

Happy things before Christmas

It's a little bit chaotic in our house lately, Mika got a cold and fever, dateline to catch, house to clean* I think I'm gonna left this one :).

And present, ooo.. the Christmas Present..., I forget how a child never forget.. and she remind me..

"Mom, is Santa's gonna come..?"
" Yes, dear, what do you want for Christmas..?"
" Leo- mom, the plastic one..*Leo-that famous- eyeglasses boys from Little Einstein..??

"... -pause-... mmm, what about the pillow version of Leo..?
I don't think Santa have the plastic version.."

" Umm.. ok then...mom! I'm a good girl mom! - grin-"

Ok dear, then a pillow with Leo character is on the way.. wish me luck!

I believe this is my happy superstitious thing ever :)

When I was small (about 7 years old) , my sis told me that I have to prepare a fresh grass and sing a Christmas Carol in front of the socks and grass if I want to get present from Santa.. hmm I wonder who will give Santa his present then.. maybe the day after Christmas.. when he was not too busy then.. ?

This is my earlybird Christmas Card, gonna mail it to my brother in law farrrr faaar away from here, hope he'll like it.. :)..

Introducing Christmas

Tau nggak, ternyata reaksi2 anak waktu kita deskripsiin sesuatu hal yang baru tentang suatu event, memang aneh2- mgkn karena 'mind'nya itu masih polos ya. Pertama kali aku kasi tau tentang Natal- seperti biasa Natal itu identik dengan bayi Yesus- bikin kandang- salju- sinterklaas- kado. Anakku langsung suatu malem abis kita pulang jalan2, dia bilang" ma, nanti pasti turun salju ya.." langsung deh nyokapnya yg jelasin panjang lebar ala scientist- kenapa- dinegara kita ngak ada salju- theory- dan ujung2nya dia bingung doong... sebagai gantinya dipake deh itu stryrofoam buat salju dirumah, di ukrek2 deseluruh penjuru rumah, messy..? ya he..ee.....hhhh :P, tp gpapa deh demi kamu deeeek...

Modifikasi kandang Natal
Karena ngak punya waktu buat bikin kandang natal dan personal2nya *baru kepikiran setelah semua ornamen kelar, jadi deh Play Mobil dari oma dimodif siki'2 laaa..., person lelaki dan perempuan jadi Yusuf dan Maria, bayi Yesus aku buat dari 'malam' -playdough, dibungkus tissue, plus mainan kambing, kuda, ayam, deelel, masuk kedalam 'rumah' kandang... :) cukup berhasil sih, dan ini bisa juga diganti dengan mainan2 si anak lainnya.. just for the symbol of Christmas..

Countdown to Christmas!

Udah deket Natal lho, excited bener Natal kali ini, mungkin karena Mika udah 3 tahun, big enough to anticipate Christmas together. Makanya aku sempet2in deh bikin Christmas craft bareng2, jangan tanya tentang berantakannya, setiap hari juga berantakan, maklum deh anak balita toh? Aku pikir nanti ada saatnya untuk rapih- sekarang puas2in deh buat mess everything with all the beautiful project. Ini ada ide kerajinan tangan yang simple dan worth it buat dicoba, bagus lagi hehe.. soalnya boring juga liat ornamen2 di toko, jadi ya kenapa ngak buat sendiri, beberapa hal yang kudu diinget:

1. Siap2 rumah berantakan untuk -yaa.. 2-3 harian deh (kecuali kl punya pembantu!)
2. Jangan expect untuk instantly create them all, just be patient -one by one, ide untuk warna dan style yang muncul tiap harinya bisa beda2 soalnya
3. Sediakan bbrp ornamen buat si anak untuk cat sendiri, jgn dimarahin kl belepetan, biarin aja, nanti kan bisa kita retouch dikit2 biar rapih
4. Pake cat akrilik warna emas, untuk alternatif selain pake glitter, it will give an exclusive look

Salt Dough Christmas Ornaments

This project is rated EASY to do.
What You Need
· ½ cup salt
· 1 cup flour
· ½ cup water
· Rolling pin
· Cookie sheet
· Toothpick
· Miniature cookie cutters: star and Christmas tree
· Acrylic paints: green, yellow, and various colors of your choice for tree ornaments
· Glitter glue or glitter paint
· ribbon
What You Do
1. Preheat the oven to 250 degrees F.
2. Mix together, salt, flour, and water until dough is formed.
3. Knead the dough on a floured surface until the mixture is elastic and smooth. If dough is too sticky, sprinkle with flour, continue to do so until stickiness is gone. Do not add too much flour, this will dry out the dough and will cause it to crack before you get a chance to bake it.
4. Roll out the dough to about ¼" thick with a rolling pin that has been dusted with flour.
5. Use cookie cutters to cut out as many trees and stars as you want.
6. Use a toothpick to make a hole toward the top of the shape. Poke the toothpick into the shape, then holding toothpick straight up and down, make a circular motion as if you were stirring something. Keep circling until the hole is the size you want.
7. Place all shapes onto an ungreased cookie sheet and place into the preheated oven.
8. Bake for 2 hours.
9. Remove from oven and allow to cool completely.
10. Paint the trees green and the stars yellow.
11. Use the handle end of the paint brush to dot on ornaments by dipping into paint then dotting onto ornament.
12. When paint is dry, use glitter glue (we used green) or glitter paint (we used gold) to put a sparkling cover coat on your ornaments.
13. When dry, thread ribbon through hole and tie in a knot in the back.
14. Tie onto package.
Helpful Hints
· If your toppers are large enough, you can make two holes in each so that you can thread ribbon through like a button, only showing a small amount of ribbon on the front.
· These make adorable pins to wear to school. Just don’t make a hole. Glue a pin back to the back of the completed ornament instead.
· Uncooked salt dough doesn’t keep well, so only make enough dough for the ornaments you are going to make. If you are only making a few toppers, halve the ingredients above. The listed amounts will make enough ornaments for a classroom of 20.
